I've long had a love for many things antique and
vintage, especially if they pertain to country living, so when I saw these
lovely old nutcrackers up for sale in an auction I couldn't resist. I got
them all for $15 - no one else wanted them- but I think they're quite
enchanting. The ones which are engraved are made in either Germany or
England and I suspect they're all British or European in origin.
I particularly love the largest one with it's decorative engraving. I call this the work of the master craftsman - like all great tools they feel so good in the hand and to use but are also particularly well made and even quite beautiful.
