I'm grateful
that one day when I was quite young - maybe 11 or 12 years old - one of my
schoolteachers told me that "a weed was just a plant growing where someone
didn't want it".
I've never
forgotten those words and it gave me a new respect for "weeds", some
of which of course are really very valuable plants. Sometimes they even
have the prettiest, tiniest flowers so of course over the years I haven't been
able to resist photographing some of the ones around here...
