Helianthus
or sunflowers remain hugely popular today and it's easy to see why
these spectacular flowers are loved by so many of us. Most species of
sunflower are native to North America and they can grow up to 3 - 5 metres
plus but the dwarf varieties also have a charm of their own. With
their rich hues of yellow, gold, red, russet, bronze and more sunflowers
look set to remain a firm favourite in gardens all around the world.
Sunflowers are easy to grow and we find they have a very high germination rate which makes them perfect for beginner gardeners. The best way to plant the seeds is directly into the ground but seedlings can also be very successfully transferred from pots.
